In this page, some common problems that you may experience are listed together with tips for their resolution.

The source doesn't correctly load or the xpaths don't correctly apply

• Check if you need to configure a proxy
• Check if you need to tune the Tidy parameters
• Check that the crawler has been allowed to run outside the starting url
• Check that the expected document content matches the actual one: scraping will likely fail if, for example, you try to load a json file without having explicitely stated that the content is json
• Check if you need to specify some authentication parameters
• Check if the page is framed: in that case, use the url of the frame of interest
• Check if the page is ajax powered: in that case, you may try to configure a Json web source or an Xml web source, or to employ the Lookout proxy

In Curiosity Studio, the document is properly loaded in the Browser View, but the "Inspect Selection" fails

• Check the previous list in order to be sure that the document has been correctly loaded by Curiosity
• There may be cases in which the Inspect Selection will fail anyway: for example, it fails if the text of the node enclosing the selection is repeated across several other DOM nodes

If your problem cannot be solved by checking the above lists, it may be a bug: feel free to notify it to the author, by reporting a detailed description about the experienced trouble - please, attach error logs (in Curiosity Studio right click the status bar) and information about your Curiosity configuration.
